POP, IMAP and SMTP settings for NUS AlumMail

All alumni students from NUS get a free email account with 25GB storage for life at NUS AlumMail. The email address is of the form myname@alumni.nus.edu.sg. This email system seems to be built upon Microsoft Office 365. If you login to AlumMail from Chrome or Firefox, it presents a simple Microsoft Outlook WebApp interface. The POP, IMAP and SMTP settings for connecting to your AlumMail account cannot be found anywhere in this WebApp interface nor on the AlumMail website.

A far richer UI and settings interface is obtained if you login to AlumMail from Internet Explorer. It is here that I discovered the POP, IMAP and SMTP settings for NUS AlumMail:

SMTP server: pod51003.outlook.com Port: 587 Encryption method: TLS
