Process Explorer is one of the best system tools on Windows. If you are missing its functionality on Linux, there is a similar application named Linux Process Explorer. It tries to provide all the functionality of the original Process Explorer with a GUI that looks almost the same. It might be worth trying out if you like to view the tree of processes, kill an entire process tree or view all kinds of properties of a process. It asks for root privileges when it is started and if given then it also shows all processes and TCP information too.
To install the Linux Process Explorer, download the deb package from its webpage and install it.
Tried with: Linux Process Explorer 1.5.275 and Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS
