The specifications of a Basler camera lists a Frame Rate for the camera in units of frames per second (FPS). However, you might find that you are getting a much lesser FPS than listed. This might be due to various settings of the camera for your situation which might be constraining your FPS.
There is a Basler Frame Rate Calculator application which can be used to play around with the camera parameters to figure out the FPS for given settings for your camera.
- Go to the Basler page for your camera. Find the Frame Rate Calculator in the Downloads section and download it.
Unzip the downloaded
.7zzipped file. You get a
.jarfile, execute it:
$ java -jar Frame_Rate_Calculator_Applet.jar
- In the application, you can choose your camera and your settings and see the resulting frame rate.
